Musée Nissim de Camondo

Incredible collection of 18th century artefacts, created by the Camondos, a family of rich jewish bankers, who helped France, the Louvre and the impressionists to be wellkown all around Europe.

Their mansion, a copy  of Marie-Antoinette's Trianon in Versailles is "THE" example of what those highly assimilated wealthy jewish families, linked to the emperor and the republic, represented up to the german invasion in 1940.

Their love for France, their involvement in political  and art domains was unbelievable!
They all were sent to Auchwitz, given to the nazis by Petain and the Vichy  government.
A must!!
